ROOTED & RISING: Join Us in Growing Sustainable Black Futures

Updated: Jun 4

Dear Supporter,

In seasons of change, we return to what we know: the power of community. Today, I'm reaching out to share an important moment in our journey at Black Lives Matter 5280 and the 5280 Freedom School.

ROOTED & RISING: Our Special Summer Appeals Campaign

June 1 - July 31, 2025

Goal: $52,800

For years, our roots have grown deep in Denver's soil, nourished by community members like you. Through our 5280 Freedom School summer camp, Saturday school programs, community gatherings, and grassroots activism, we have created empowering spaces where Black brilliance flourishes. Every book read, every lesson taught, every young mind inspired has been made possible by people who believe in our vision.

Amid growing uncertainty around funding for Black-led, Black-centered, and women-led movements, we are reconnecting with our grassroots origins. We have always known that true sustainability comes from the community we serve. This isn't just about maintaining our programs – it's about growing our collective power and ensuring our children's futures remain bright and secure.

Your donation directly supports:

- The 2025 Summer Camp
